When it comes to Vietnam, most people visualize conical hats, busy streets in cities and exotic rice paddies. This country is popular for its beauty, scams, and complexities. And these things have an impact on even the most experienced travelers. In this article, we are going to discuss a few travel tips for Vietnam. We will talk about a couple of things that you should learn prior to visiting this country. If you are going to travel to Vietnam from India in the near future and you want to know about Vietnam tour packages from India, you should visit Tripda.

1) Visa for Vietnam

If you have a popular passport, you may want to apply for a valid visa to enter the country. Vietnam also has bilateral or unilateral visa exemption agreement for 24 countries. You can get a visa in three ways: Evisa, visa on arrival and visa at the embassy in Vietnam.

2) Buy a SIM card

Once you land in Vietnam, you can choose from a lot of options if you want to buy a SIM card from a store at the airport. However, you don’t need to worry if you forget buying one at the airport. The good news is that you can purchase SIM cards at a lot of stores in the city. Ideally, you may want to buy a SIM card for Vietnamobile or Mobifone.

After you have got the card, your next move is to save some emergency phone numbers so you can report the kidnapping, harassment or theft. Given below are some popular emergency numbers you should save:

  • 1800 1567: dial this number if you see violence against women or kids
  • 115: dial this number for a medical emergency
  • 114: This number is for fire service
  • 113: this number for rapid response cops

3) Currency in Vietnam

The national currency in Vietnam is the Dong. The money denomination is diverse and looks quite similar. So, you may get confused. What you need to do is remember the colors and double-check before you make payment.

4) Use Maps so you don’t Get Lost

In Vietnam, streets may also confuse you from time to time. You will find a lot of back alleys that look so similar to each other that you will think as if you are visiting the same place over and over again. Also, the locals will pronounce the street names in a way that even familiar names will sound quality unfamiliar to you.

So, what is the way out? An easy way to solve this issue is to get a map or use Google Maps. This will prevent you from getting lost.
